I hold the beauty
& the journey
of all materials
in high regard.
PALMWORKS is committed to continuing the life of existing resources.
The impact I hope to make through what I do, is to re~orient the value of materials that might otherwise be considered less than new, less than perfect, forgotten or discarded. & to hold them in high regard as the precious resources that they are.
*
Jewellery Materials :
I work solely with reclaimed pearls & vintage semi~precious stone elements, meticulously sourced & reworked to create special objects of adornment.
I choose to work with silver that has been renewed, repurposed or reworked from vintage jewellery elements. Silver by nature is indefinitely recyclable.
All bags have been made using reclaimed & dead-stock fabrics that have been lovingly reimagined.
*
Within in the resources we already have available to us, there is so much magic - these materials are often just waiting to be seen in a new light.
I choose to work in ways that prolong the circularity of existing resources in the world, diminishing the need to extract new materials from earth, to the detriment of people and place.
*
Wrapping :
I will never post jewellery out to you in bubble wrap or plastic layers.
All Palmworks packaging is completely recyclable. All card & paper elements are made from 100% recycled paper pulp which comes from trade and commercial waste, produced by hand in the UK.
ADORNED by PALMWORKS :
ADORNED by PALMWORKS is an amalgamation of the resources & processes that are the foundation of my jewellery offering (reclaiming & reimagining through hand craft) combined with the reverence I hold for the beauty of everyday objects, garments & materials
I have gathered a small number of vintage & secondhand garments, & with each piece
I have adorned the marks, the wear, the stains, the flaws ~
I’ve adorned the places on the fabric where my heart said, go there ~ celebrating the life of the garment, & adorning the value back into the piece. This is my way of saying, there is beauty here, there is value here.
when we have reverence for the garments we choose,
we do not discard them.
they are special
& so we keep them.
