PALMWORKS is my offering to the world :

I make by hand

& create from the heart.

Palmworks is a small business born from a desire to celebrate existing resources, with a considered & reverent approach. I create limited & one-of-a-kind jewellery & textile accessories, as well as pearl-adorned & embellished vintage garments.

I choose to work with reclaimed, reworked & salvaged materials as my first choice - including all the pearls, semi-precious stones & textiles that are the foundation of my collections. All that I create is offered out into the world with a deep appreciation for materials that might otherwise be considered less than new, less than perfect, forgotten or discarded. I hold all of these materials in high regard as the precious resources that they are - to me they are special, & I want them to be seen & celebrated for the beauty & potential they hold.

What I know from spending time with these materials, is that when we look at resources from a place of appreciation, it is natural to see things as precious - we treasure what is around us, because we see the beauty in all of it. This knowing is at the heart of all that I design & make ; in this way, the jewellery, adorned garments & accessories all exist as a reclaiming & reimagining through hand craft.

With love,

Jodie

(Notes on the heart of my business)

My work is for anyone who sees the beauty in what they wear, and knows that it is a mirror to their own magic. For those who hold reverence for the objects around them as not just ‘stuff’. My work is for anyone who has a feeling of connection to the objects they choose to adorn themselves with, & values them ; wearing these pieces feels special & intentional.

The impact I hope to make through what I do, is to re~orient the value of materials that might otherwise be considered less than new, less than perfect, forgotten or discarded. & to hold them in high regard as the precious resources that they are.

When I was young I wanted to be an artist or an archeologist - this was my dream, and I think I have never lost the sense that objects can be deeply meaningful & even sacred to someone. Objects that span great lengths of time & retain their preciousness. And I have not lost the belief that our ability to create is a unique part of our aliveness ~ it’s our connection to source, to wonder and awe and beauty.
